The wallet provider MetaMask has issued a warning on Twitter and has explicitly labeled rumors about a possible airdrop as a scam.

The crypto wallet provider MetaMask warns its users about scam attempts. An airdrop or snapshot on March 31 will not happen, the company says. In recent days, there have been more and more rumors and links to an airdrop on social media. These have been explicitly denied by MetaMask.

"These rumors are not only false, but also dangerous. They create opportunities for scammers and phishers," the MetaMask team warns on Twitter.

Airdrops are currently getting more attention due to the recent token distribution at Arbitrum. Criminals are trying to cash in on the current airdrop FOMO and lure investors to manipulated sites.
