Polygon, Avalanche, ZKsync: Discord server hacked

It looks like a coordinated attack: multiple Discord servers of well-known blockchain projects were hacked this weekend. First up was Polygon. On Saturday, attackers gained access to this project's Discord server and distributed phishing links to fake websites.

Then something similar happened on Avalanche and ZKsync's Discord servers. Again, links were shared trying to connect to users' wallets. The projects temporarily warned not to use the servers. The platforms have since been accessed again. "We have restored and secured access to the Polygon community-Discord server," View post on X.

All external bots and integrations have been disabled for now, and a security check is underway. Such attacks are increasingly happening on social media. Often the attackers target the profiles of well-known people or companies. Most recently, McDonald's Instagram account was targeted. More on that here.
