Does Ethereum staking leak your IP address?
An Ethereum Foundation staffer says metadata is collected during staking.

An Ethereum Foundation staffer claims metadata is collected during staking.
Ethereum analyst Justin Drake says in an interview that the Ethereum Foundation monitors metadata from staking users. This metadata includes the IP address. He discovered this internally by accident while testing.
"There is a lot of metadata—you can look at deposit addresses, you can look at withdrawal addresses, you can look at fee payers, you can look at IP addresses," Drake said. The Twitter community is worried about privacy. Drake's statements have not been confirmed or denied by the Ethereum Foundation to date. Staking Ethereum is, of course, a hot topic following the successful rollout of the Shanghai Update.
In November 2022 there was another data privacy scandal in the crypto space. It was revealed that ConsenSys stored Metamask user data.
