The radical cryptocurrency shift in the United States now appears to have reached the regulators, making the likelihood of a quick end to the legal battle between Ripple Labs and the SEC greater than ever. Many XRP investors therefore fear that the ongoing regulatory uncertainty could depress the price of the Ripple Coin and dash hopes for an XRP ETF. Four renowned asset managers, Bitwise, Canary Capital, 21Shares and WisdomTree, have applied for a Ripple ETF in recent months. The fact that XRP, as the third largest cryptocurrency, now has a market capitalization of more than 140 billion dollars significantly increases their chances. At the time of writing, the Ripple Coin is at $2.49, an increase of almost 20 percent since last Monday's major correction.
