The SEC still has a few days to decide

The decision on the appeal in the Ripple XRP dispute is getting closer. The ruling on this matter is expected within a few days according to Coinpaprika. On Monday October 7, the SEC's appeal deadline passes.

Observers think the procedure is likely to be reopened. American lawyer Fred Rispoli View post on X puts the odds at about 60 percent.

Former SEC lawyers described things in similar terms to reporter Eleanor Terrett. The Ripple-SEC case ended after more than three years in August with a $125 million penalty for the California company.

When asked whether Ripple's sale of XRP violated securities laws, the court distinguished between sales to private investors and institutional investors. Ripple had only committed a violation in the latter case.
