Swiss PostFinance now offers Bitcoin and Ethereum

The Swiss financial services provider PostFinance now also offers cryptocurrencies through a collaboration with Sygnum Bank. This gives 2.5 million Swiss customers access to Bitcoin and Ethereum.
The partnership with Sygnum Bank makes this possible. "PostFinance customers will be able to buy, store, and sell leading cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum," said a press release on April 5.
"Digital investments have become an integral part of the financial world, and our customers want access to this market," said Philipp Merkt, Chief Investment Officer of PostFinance AG.
PostFinance is fully owned by the Swiss government. In recent weeks, a number of American banks that are important to the crypto sector collapsed. This is pushing other players to fill this gap in the financial infrastructure.
Sygnum Chief B2B Officer Fritz Jost adds: "Banks now have a unique opportunity to win back customers' trust, generate new revenue streams, and keep existing clients. Working with PostFinance, we are today collaborating with more than 15 B2B partners to bridge the gap between traditional and digital finance."
