The legal battle over the allegations against the Bored Ape Yacht Club and the Yuga Labs company is nearing its end. Now the co-founders must testify under oath.

The two founders of Yuga Labs, Wylie Aronow and Greg Solano, had to testify under oath in a federal court in California. Previously Yuga Labs argued that the co-founders were so-called "crown witnesses" and therefore had to be excluded from key events. The federal judge dismissed this argument as "fundamentally flawed." He stated that only the founders of Yuga Labs could speak to the origins of the Bored Ape brand. The judge also reprimanded Yuga Labs for "lax diligence" and pointed to the fact that the company did not respond to several requests from the opposing party.

Plaintiff looks forward to the deposition

Plaintiff Ryder Ripps told Decrypt that he looked forward to the possibility of interrogating the top of Yuga under oath. He added: "The fact that they can't hold themselves to account for their own actions and produced nothing during the entire discovery process speaks volumes." Ripps' attorney, Alfred Steiner, also confirmed: "They don't want to answer the hard, uncomfortable questions the defendant's [Ryder Ripps] scrutiny requires." Aronow and Solano have already commented on the verdict.
