Twitter has launched a new crypto search feature that displays real-time prices of cryptocurrencies. The new feature is an improvement of "$Cashtags" and was yesterday View post on X by Twitter's business account. Specifically it states: "When you search for the symbol of a major stock, ETF, or cryptocurrency with a $ in front (like $BTC), users on Twitter will see a clickable link that takes them to the search results." So far, Bitcoin and Ethereum are the only cryptocurrencies with price charts.
More improvements coming
In the coming weeks, the user experience will be improved and the displays of symbols will be expanded, according to the announcement. Elon MuskView post on X called the feature "one of many product enhancements coming to financial Twitter." After the much-discussed takeover by the tech god, a lot of memecoins rose on the price ladder. Musk previously announced several crypto improvements for the short-form platform.
Whether wallets will soon be part of Twitter remains to be seen. In the meantime, the 51-year-old will likely step down from his role as CEO of the platformstep down.
