Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin has yet more hopeful words for Solana's community, shaken by the FTX collapse.

Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin gave yesterday some hope to the Solana community in the wake of the price crash. In a View post on X he was surprisingly confident about the fate of the "Ethereum killer".

He heard that Solana has a "serious and smart developers community," as Buterin explains. He also sees "a bright future" for the blockchain now that the "opportunistic money has been washed away". He remains hopeful that Solana's community gets a "fair chance to thrive".

It looks like Solana could really use the words from its big rival. Because of his close ties to the collapsed FTX exchange, SOL's stock price slid to a new yearly low in recent weeks.

SOL is now down more than 95 percent from its all-time high and slipped out of the top-20 cryptocurrencies in the last 48 hours. In some circles, doubts are growing about the blockchain's survival.

But some Solana fans see parallels between the crash and the View post on X bear market of 2018, in the wake of which Ethereum recovered and rose in the coming years from $80 to around $4,900.
