The file-sharing giant WeTransfer and the blockchain protocol Minima want to explore the practical use of NFT technology.

WeTransfer and blockchainplatform Minima are planning to launch an NFT service. This reports CoinDesk, which cites a press release. The collaboration with WeTransfer will allow blockchain users to "share their digital assets and generate revenue efficiently", according to the company.

Minima is a Layer 1 blockchain and peer-to-peer network optimized for mobile use. According to Minima's website, the protocol makes it possible to "run a full build- and validation node", creating a decentralized network. The platform is currently in testing and is expected to go live in 180 countries in March.

"This partnership will explore the practical use of NFT technology and serve as a test case to demonstrate the potential for broader application of this innovative digital tool," says Hugo Feiler, CEO of Minima.

From recent data it appears that 70 million people send about two billion files every month via WeTransfer. If the trial is successful, the collaboration could spur NFT adoption.

Several Web 2.0 services have recently announced partnerships with crypto projects. While Amazon's Web Services is collaborating with Avalanche on blockchain solutions, Google Cloud is promoting Web3 development via NEAR.

Amazon also seems eager to launch a digital asset company to roll out a NFT initiative in the spring.
