TRC-20
TRC-20 is a technical standard for tokens on the TRON blockchain. It sets rules for how these tokens work.
What is TRC-20?
You can think of TRC-20 as a shared set of rules. This lets crypto wallets, crypto exchanges, and apps know how to read and send a token on TRON.
A TRC-20 token is technically a smart contract. That’s a program on the network that follows set rules, such as how many tokens exist and how many tokens a wallet holds.
An example of TRC-20
You can send USDT over the TRON network. In that case, you’re sending USDT as a TRC-20 token.
The TRC-20 rules tell the wallet or crypto exchange how to update balances. This lets different services handle the same USDT in the same way.
Why is TRC-20 important in crypto?
You’ll often see TRC-20 when depositing or withdrawing USDT on a crypto exchange. It’s important to understand that TRC-20 refers to the network and technical standard, not just the token’s name.
TRON is known for fast transactions and low fees. That’s why TRC-20 is often used to send stablecoins. However, low fees don’t mean every token on this network is trustworthy.
Safety also depends on the smart contract, the token issuer, and how secure your crypto wallet is.
