Amazon and Walmart Launch Stablecoins
Amazon, Walmart, and other big retailers are working on their own stablecoins.

Amazon, Walmart, and other big retailers are working on their own stablecoins. This comes from a Wall Street Journal report, which got information from people inside these companies.
Many companies are still exploring how they could use these stablecoins. Alongside Amazon and Walmart, travel site Expedia and several airlines are also considering their own stablecoins. The idea is that companies could save a lot of money with stablecoins. They would then pay fewer fees to banks or payment companies like Visa and Mastercard.
Whether these plans will actually go ahead is not yet certain. In the United States, a new law is being drafted—the GENIUS Act—that should provide clarity. Stablecoins could disrupt or even threaten normal banking. That’s why large banks in the U.S. are joining forces to take part in this new market.
