Berlin Blockchain Week 2022 kicks off

The Berlin Blockchain Week offers a week of abundant events around Web3. Here is an overview of the week’s key happenings.

The Berlin Blockchain Week kicks off on 12.09.2022. Through September 18, there will be a variety of events, workshops, meetups and more focused on blockchain and Web3, where crypto enthusiasts can dive into the topic. Supporters and developers from the major networks and the brains behind big companies or startups will be represented. Of course, it all happens in a decentralized, truly blockchain-style, i.e. spread across the city. To keep an overview, here are the major events.

Meetup / Conference

Just hang out and talk about Bitcoin. Some meetups make this possible during Blockchain Week. On Monday at 11:00 there is the Bitcoin Hangout@B2029. Right after, at 16:00, the little ones can get comfortable with the tech at Bitcoin For Kids. At 7:00 PM, a journey through the history of the first digital coin begins with "Bitcoin - present, past, and future".

But people can also swap ideas about other blockchains. On Tuesday at 11:30, the "Tezos Tuesday Brunch" kicks off. Cosmos fans will surely feel at home with "Buckle Up & Build with Cosmos" on the same day from 6:00 PM.

For NFT enthusiasts, the "NFTs beyond the buzz" Meetup is a solid pick. From 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM, the hype takes a backseat and the focus is on real-world applications of digital one-off products.

From the weekend, the event picks up more pace. DeFi specialists can think about the future of finance with Aave founder Stani Kulechov on Friday at 5:00 PM during "DeFi Conversations: The pillars of the next financial system". For Solana ecosystem fans, head to the Solana x Jump x Mango Mixer at 7:00 PM.

Workshop / Hackathon

Visitors can deepen their craft with the many workshops. Polkadot and Kusama invite you to the "Cross Chain Product & Developer Workshop" on Tuesday at 1:00 PM.

Everything then centers around Ethereum starting Friday at 4:00 PM, during the "ETHBerlin3" Hackathon at the Factory in Görlitzer Park. The third edition of the cultural festival isn’t just about hacking; it spans almost every facet of the ecosystem and is a must for all Ethereans. A Solidity Workshop is also on the schedule for Sunday, September 11.

Party / Afterhour

In Germany’s party capital, it goes with the territory that after a blockchain event you celebrate. Here you can mingle freely with other scene fans and recap the day’s happenings.

On Monday, September 12, the DeData: Afterparty kicks off at 8:00 PM at Watergate, with techno in line with the theme. On Tuesday evening from 8 PM, Algorand invites you to a party at the Institute for Contemporary Art.

For Ethereum fans, there should be something to celebrate during Blockchain Week as well. If the merge goes smoothly, a celebratory moment could take place at the AEDEN club during the merger night on September 16. While the merge would ideally occur before this event, timing could allow it to happen during the party with a bit of luck. Guests should RSVP in advance—the demand will likely be high.

At Beer & Web3.0 on Saturday from 6:00 PM, it’ll be a bit calmer. Just sip a beer and chat late about the future of the internet. Why not?

The Blockchain Week wraps up on Sunday at 7:00 PM, when the "ETHBerlin3" afterparty also closes the Ethereum-themed festival. More details on this event can be found in the program on the ETHBerlin homepage.
