Biggest crypto exchange wants in on Twitter deal

Binance sees Twitter as a vital tool for its Web3.0 strategy. Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao wants to contribute to the Twitter deal with an offer of $500 million, according to Bloomberg Intelligence.

Changpeng Zhao, aka CZ, made the offer earlier this year in May 2022. Around that time, the back-and-forth between Musk and Twitter began. He reiterates his intention again in an interview.

CZ sees Twitter as part of his marketing strategy, aiming to broaden the development of Web3.0. Elon Musk is poised to buy Twitter for a valuation of $44 billion. The deal is expected to close on Friday.

The purchase has been in the works for months. Musk and Twitter spent months at odds in court. Bloomberg reports the U.S. government is concerned about foreign investors in the deal. Besides Binance, the Saudi prince is also a prominent investor.
