Bitcoin Breaks Through to a New All-Time High, Here’s What Could Happen Next

Bitcoin's price continues to surprise the crypto markets. Just a few days after breaking the previous all-time high, the leading digital coin surged again on Thursday night. According to data from CoinMarketCap, Bitcoin has now hit a new record of over $123,000, with a total market cap of $2.3 trillion.

ETF money is flowing in

One of the biggest drivers of this price rally: massive capital inflows into U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs. Last week these funds posted another record inflow, with billions of fresh money flowing toward BTC.

Politics and monetary policy as a turbo boost

There’s also a lot going on outside crypto. Trump’s "Big Beautiful Bill" — a bill that’s crypto-friendly — is fueling investor optimism. At the same time, expectations are growing that the U.S. Federal Reserve will cut rates for the first time in September. The CME FedWatch Tool currently prices the odds at around 66%.

The result? A perfect cocktail for risky assets like Bitcoin and other cryptos.

Is $122,000 just a stepping stone?

If the macroeconomic climate stays favorable and the political tailwinds persist, this record level could just be a stepping stone toward even higher prices. The bull run is far from over.

Altcoins ride higher too

The euphoria isn’t limited to Bitcoin. Other big coins like Ethereum, XRP, and Solana are each up about 2% vs. yesterday. The standout of the day? Pudgy Penguins, up an impressive 30%.

Crypto investor and Maelstrom CIO Arthur Hayes pours fuel on the fire by talking up an upcoming "monster altseason".

European investors buy on discount

While Bitcoin in U.S. dollars is hitting records, a new all-time high in euros is still not in sight. That gives European investors a chance to take advantage of the current rally at a relatively cheaper entry point.
