Two of the most popular classic games are coming to the blockchain through a new partnership.
Fans of classics like Solitaire and Sudoku can look forward to it. They can now earn rewards in the world's largest cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, while playing. This innovation is made possible by a partnership between two game companies, Zebedee and Viker. Zebedee is a game startup focused on Bitcoin. Viker has a large "play-to-earn" portfolio.
"These games are played by literally billions of people, for hundreds of hours, for many years. But up to now none of them has received anything for their time. Why should this continue when we are living in an era where games can be more than just fun?" writes Dan Beasley, co-founder of Viker, in a statement.
There is no prior technical knowledge required to use the feature. Players only need to type their Zebedee ecosystem username into Viker's app to start. Zebedee had previously raised $35 million in a recent funding round, including from gaming giant Square Enix.
