The U.S. Department of Justice has filed further charges against the founder and former CEO of FTX, Sam Bankman-Fried.

Sam Bankman-Fried is being charged again by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ). Court documents show the FTX founder made multiple attempts at bribery. As stated in an expanded indictment that SBF engaged in several attempts to buy both American and Chinese government officials.

"He also conspired to bribe one or more Chinese government officials, aiming to gain access to Alameda's trading accounts, which had been frozen by the Chinese police," the indictment said.

40 million dollars

According to the document, the bribery attempts totaled $40 million. Bankman-Fried's cryptocurrency exchange FTX collapsed last November. He is said to have embezzled billions of customer funds. The trial is set to begin in early October.
