Buenos Aires plans to run its own Ethereum validator nodes

The Argentine capital Buenos Aires aims to participate in securing the Ethereum network in the future. They also want to work on appropriate crypto regulations.

Diego Fernández, the city of Buenos Aires' Commissioner for Innovation, announced at the South American ETH Latam conference that the Argentine capital plans to operate its own Ethereum validator nodes. This comes from a CoinDesk report.

Fernández told Coindesk that running Ethereum Validator Nodes would serve "exploratory and regulatory purposes" and help Buenos Aires develop "flexible regulations".

Ethereum Validator Nodes are expected to be set up in the Argentine capital starting in 2023. The exact number of nodes is not yet known.

The birthplace of tango has previously made crypto-friendly headlines. In the future, Buenos Aires will also be home to the world's first crypto house.
