Coinbase has announced that it will suspend trading in Binance-USD (BUSD) starting March 13 around 6:00 p.m. CET.

Trading in BUSD will be paused on Coinbase on March 13 around 6:00 p.m. CET. Coinbase made the announcement on Twitter.

The stablecoin no longer meets the "listing standards" of the largest U.S. exchange, according to statements from the crypto exchange. Users will still have access to their BUSD after the suspension and will be able to withdraw it, View post on X.

With a market capitalization of more than $10 billion, BUSD is the second-largest stablecoin in the world.

BUSD carries the name of the competing exchange Binance. It is issued by the stablecoin issuer Paxos, which has since ended its partnership with Binance.

The token, pegged to the U.S. dollar, was recently scrutinized by U.S. regulators. The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the New York State Treasury Department accused Paxos of issuing unregistered securities and threatened with a lawsuit.
