Crypto companies raise $10B as Germany watches

There flows again a lot of money into the crypto industry. In the second quarter of 2025, crypto companies worldwide raised about $10 billion through funding rounds, the highest total since early 2022.

June stood out, with more than $5 billion in capital injections. Only three times before in history did the sector receive more venture capital in a single month.

Big players snagged most of the bait: The asset manager Strive Funds, founded by Vivek Ramaswamy, pulled in a whopping $750 million in May. Not far behind was Twenty One Capital, the Bitcoin-treasury company of Jack Mallers, which raised $585 million. The third spot went to Securitize, which securitized $400 million in Q2.

Among the venture capitalists, Coinbase Ventures led the list of active investors. They were followed by Animoca Brands, Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), and Pantera Capital. A total of 331 funding rounds were counted.

Notably, the bulk of the capital flowed to companies in the Blockchain Services category, even before the popular DeFi sector. Traditional crypto companies (CeFi) remained attractive, too. Still, the total number of funding rounds fell slightly versus the prior quarter.

The United States, unsurprisingly, led with nearly $4 billion in investments. Singapore also stayed in the game, with a strong $1.3 billion.
