Dogecoin mascot and meme icon has passed away

The crypto world is mourning the loss of its most famous mascot: Kabosu. The Shiba Inu lent his face to Dogecoin and was the symbol of a meme culture.

"A sad day for crypto world", "thanks for inspiring", "a legend never dies": The crypto sector says goodbye to Kabosu, probably the most famous Shiba Inu in the world. Kabosu was the face of Dogecoin, the very first memecoin. And thus not only a role model for a new generation, but also for a new understanding of cryptocurrencies.

The memecoin Dogecoin, created in 2013 as a satirical commentary on Bitcoin, has become a full-fledged part of meme culture.

Other coins such as Shiba Inu, Floki and Bonk would never have existed without DOGE, and Elon Musk once jokingly used his Shiba Inu dog as Twitter's CEO. Today, the memecoin market is a billion-dollar business. This is due in no small part to Kabosu, who probably never knew of his fame.
