A few weeks before the Ethereum Merge, one of the first ETH whales moved 145,000 Ether. The wallet had been inactive for the last three years.
An Ethereum whale moved a total of 145,000 ETH across in various transactions to different wallets. The equivalent value is currently 270 million US dollars. The wallet has been inactive for the past three years and now has a balance of 0.1 Ether.
The whale acquired its holdings in 2014 during the Ethereum Genesis ICO. It received a total of 150,000 Ether at that time. It appears the whale plans to participate in Ethereum's move from Proof of Work to Proof of Stake. The whale could use the ETH for a validator node. After Ethereum Merge completed its final test phase a few days ago, the consensus switch was dated September 15.
