Ethereum upgrade moved up to September 15

After the latest test success, it won’t be long: The Ethereum Merge has been moved up by a few days.

After yesterday's successful merge simulation on the Görli testnet, a new date for Ethereum's consensus switch was announced on Github: September 15.

Earlier, the date for the transition to Proof of Stake was set for September 19 by Ethereum developer Tim Beiko. The Ethereum Foundation has not officially confirmed the date yet.

With the merge, Ethereum switches from the former Proof-of-Work consensus method to Proof of Stake. The transition lowers the blockchain's energy consumption, enables scalability solutions, and is intended to improve the network's security.

The Ethereum Merge is part of several updates Ethereum plans to implement.
