Euronext Suspends Zcash ETP ZCSH on Debut Day
The delay appears to be about settlement through the central securities depository, not Zcash itself. That means access to CoinShares’ physical ZEC product is pushed back for European investors.

Key Takeaways
- Euronext suspended the listing of CoinShares’ Zcash ETP ZCSH on its planned debut day.
- The exchange cited settlement requirements and support from the central securities depository as the reason for the suspension.
- Euronext gave no new date; the product is the fourth Zcash ETP in Europe.
Euronext has put the planned listing of CoinShares’ Zcash ETP on hold on the debut day itself. The product, with ticker ZCSH, was set to start trading on Euronext Paris on October 28, 2026, but for now it will not trade. The exchange announced the suspension until further notice and gave no reason in the announcement itself.
Settlement Blocks the Launch
The explanation came later from an Euronext spokesperson. They spoke about operational requirements around settlement and said the product will remain suspended until standard settlement operations can be fully supported by the central securities depository, or CSD. Euronext made it clear that the measure only concerns those settlement requirements.
That means the problem is not with Zcash itself or with CoinShares’ product, but with the market infrastructure around it. A security can only trade on a regulated exchange if the depository can handle settlement. Until then, trading stays on hold.
CoinShares Had Already Announced the Listing
CoinShares announced the addition of Zcash to the CoinShares Physical range on the same day. The product has an annual management fee of 1.5% and is fully physically backed by ZEC. Investors would be able to buy it through an existing brokerage account, without their own private keys or direct custody.
The suspension shows that an approved listing does not automatically mean a crypto instrument can start trading right away. Since March 2025, Euronext has expanded its clearing services to crypto ETPs specifically so products like this can be processed in a regulated market. That infrastructure makes new listings possible, but in practice it can also be an extra step that has to work first.
Relevant for European Investors
For Dutch and other European investors, this matters mainly because crypto ETPs are often seen as the easiest way to get exposure to a token through a regular brokerage account. If the listing is delayed, that access disappears for a while, even if the product has already been announced. Euronext gave no new date for the suspension, and CoinShares did not respond to a request for comment.
The product is the fourth Zcash ETP in Europe, following launches this year from 21Shares, Virtune, and Valor.
