A hacker has reportedly stolen $10 million worth of Ether from private crypto wallets, and no one knows how.

Former CEO and founder of Ethereum wallet manager MyCrypto, Taylor Monahan, said on April 18 that more than 5,000 ETH had been stolen. In addition to Ether, other tokens and NFTs were stolen, Monahan said. So far, it’s unclear how the hacker gained control of the accounts.

The security team behind the crypto wallet MetaMask, told Decrypt that this was an "unidentified exploit". "The on-chain behavior strongly suggests a breach of the private keys," the company said.

During the hack, the equivalent value of ETH stolen since the start of the year is about $10 million. View post on X Hardware wallets were also affected.
