The accounts have not been used since the summer. At that time, Israeli intelligence had made them public. "We doubt that these groups suddenly stopped using USDT in June/July," ChainArgos writes. "More likely, these figures are grossly underestimated because they do not take into account the last 3-4 months."

Tether (USDT) is the leading stablecoin. Most transactions have taken place on Tron's blockchain. The blockchain is suspected of becoming a gathering place for criminals. Tron was founded by Justin Sun, a highly controversial crypto personality. Allegations against him range from market manipulation to blackmail. With a market cap of about $7.5 billion, Tron is currently on the tenth place of top cryptocurrencies on Coinmarketcap.

According to Elliptic has also given Hamas about $43 million in cryptocurrency donations received. Hamas attacked Israel on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2023, firing hundreds of rockets at cities and attacking civilians at a techno festival near the Gaza border, among other targets. Israel's Prime Minister Netanyahu then placed Israel in a state of war. The army launched counterattacks and is currently preparing a ground offensive.
