Market Update: Bitcoin Wobbles, Solana Rally Over?
After a promising rebound on Monday, crypto prices have turned red again.

After a promising rebound on Monday, crypto prices have turned red again. The total market value of all cryptocurrencies fell to $3.28 trillion, a loss of about $190 billion from last week.
Bitcoin briefly slipped below $104,000 Tuesday evening, but tepidly recovered and is around $105,400 at the time of writing. That’s a 3.7% drop over seven days. Ethereum, the market’s second, fared even worse with a 9.2% decline and sits at $2,540. XRP (-5.6%, $2.16) and Solana (-10%, $148) are also deep in the red.
Cause: geopolitical tensions and rate fears
The sudden pullback appears closely tied to rising tensions between Israel and Iran. Comments from former U.S. president Donald Trump only fan the flames. Trump called the Iranian supreme leader an "easy target" and hinted in a Truth Social post at military action, including possible U.S. involvement in Israeli strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities. He even urged Iran’s "unconditional surrender."
At the same time, markets are tense ahead of the U.S. central bank’s rate decision on Wednesday evening. While analysts expect Fed Chair Jerome Powell to hold rates steady, his commentary could have a big impact on stocks and crypto markets.
BTC-ECHO analyst Stefan Lübeck notes: “If Powell takes a more dovish tone, that could be positive. In that scenario, both growth stocks and crypto could rise in the initial move.”
