MetaMask adds Ethereum staking feature

Users who want to stake Ethereum can now do it directly in the popular browser wallet MetaMask. The app announced this in a blog. Via MetaMask's portfolio feature, ETH can be staked with corresponding providers. The service is ideal especially for beginner stakers.

MetaMask uses the popular staking providers Lido and Rocket Pool for the feature, which currently offer yields of 5.7% and 4.2% respectively. The feature is still in beta testing. Users are advised to first familiarize themselves with the possible risks, via the risk disclosures.

Recently MetaMask also warned wallet owners about increased fraud attempts via so-called "address poisoning". Fraudsters prey on users' carelessness by creating wallet addresses that resemble other addresses from their transaction history.

From now on users can stake their Ethereum directly in the popular browser wallet MetaMask via Lido or Rocket Pool.

Earlier announced MetaMask had already announced a partnership with PayPal.
