PayPal launches crypto transfers for Venmo customers

PayPal continues to expand its crypto offerings. Starting in May, Venmo users will be able to send Bitcoin, Ethereum, and more cryptocurrencies via the app.

PayPal is expanding crypto transfers to more than 60 million Venmo users. The company announced this in a press release. With the feature, users will be able to transfer cryptocurrencies to friends and family on Venmo or PayPal and to other wallets and exchanges.

The rollout will be available to Venmo customers in the coming weeks starting May 2023. PayPal partnered with MetaMask in June last year, which made it possible for users to send certain cryptocurrencies to external wallets. Venmo is a mobile payments app that PayPal acquired in 2013, but is not yet available in Europe."
