Satoshi Nakamoto almost named Bitcoin something else.

Bitcoin is known worldwide today. But Satoshi Nakamoto had another name in mind for the first cryptocurrency. The anonymous inventor of Bitcoin once toyed with naming what is now the world’s largest cryptocurrency something else. This came to light this week via View post on X that tweeted about it.

Weinberger looked into the domain registry that registers websites. During his research he found that Satoshi Nakamoto had registered a website called Netcoin.org. A day later, he registered the official Bitcoin.org website.
