These US numbers matter for Bitcoin and altcoins today

Bitcoin investors are hoping for a breakthrough to the symbolic $100,000 mark, but the leading crypto is taking its time for now. At the time of writing, BTC is trading around $95,000. That puts the daily move up 0.6%, and the weekly gain at about 1.5%.
With a market cap of $1.89 trillion, Bitcoin now ranks 7th on the world’s list of the most valuable assets, still ahead of silver but just behind tech giant Alphabet (Google).
Ethereum follows Bitcoin’s price action closely and also posts small gains. The second-largest cryptocurrency is currently trading at $1,810 and sits 63rd by market cap, with a total value of $218 billion.
Other big altcoins like XRP, BNB, and Solana are showing small losses today. Big price swings are still absent, suggesting a consolidation phase in the altcoin market.
Bitcoin’s dominance stands out at about 63.5%, the highest level in three years. Ethereum, by contrast, sees its market share dip to 7.4%. It’s clear: it’s Bitcoin time again in the crypto market. In the last 90 days, only 17 altcoins including Cake, Maker, and even Fartcoin have outperformed BTC.
Gold-linked crypto assets like PAX Gold are also among the winners. PAXG’s price has risen 20% over three months, inline with rising gold prices. The precious metal is currently trading at $3,312 per troy ounce, a sharp rise from earlier months.
Markets are waiting today anxiously for fresh U.S. macro data. Specifically GDP and core PCE inflation are in the spotlight. These figures could influence not only traditional financial markets but also crypto prices.
Finally, there’s news around Kamino Finance (KMNO). Today there’s a so-called token unlock planned, and Messari data show the circulating supply increasing by 17%. In previous unlocks, the altcoin’s price surged, but whether it happens again today remains to be seen.
