James Howells won’t give up and wants his lost Bitcoin back. His latest trump card? Robotic dogs. In the crypto world, Brit James Howells is associated with a crypto nightmare. In 2013, the now 32-year-old got rid of a (supposed) empty hard drive. The problem: the hard drive actually contained his 7,500 Bitcoin. That drive is now most likely on a landfill in Wales.

At the current BTC price of about 21,125 US dollars, the value would be almost 160 million US dollars. Now the Brit has a new idea: with robotic dogs and an AI machine, he plans to sift through 110,000 tons of trash to locate his hard drive, he tells Howells to Business Insider.

Meanwhile, two venture capitalists have been brought on board to fund the project. The available funds are reportedly up to 11 million dollars. If the hard drive is indeed found, Howells plans to reward the community and the helpers.

Howells has been fighting for years with the Newport council in Wales to get permission to search the landfill for his wallet, which was deemed e-waste, to search the dump — so far without success. Unfortunately, Howells is not an isolated case — there are other stories about lost Bitcoin.
