Trump sons launch 'American Bitcoin': We're aiming to build a big Bitcoin stash

A high-profile name is popping up in the world of bitcoin mining: American Bitcoin (ABTC), a company tied to the Trump family, has unveiled its ambitious plans to build a substantial bitcoin stockpile.

The company, co-founded by Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr., doesn't just want to mine bitcoin; it also plans to actively buy bitcoin to grow its reserves.

Bitcoin collection as the main goal

A document filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on June 6 shows ABTC views bitcoin collection as its core mission. The filing notes the company currently holds 215 BTC, accumulated since its founding in April this year. How large the stock will ultimately be remains unknown for now.

Following this strategy, ABTC is following the lead of companies like MicroStrategy, which see bitcoin as strategic corporate property.

Fusion with Gryphon Digital Mining in the works

At the same time, ABTC is pursuing a merger with Gryphon Digital Mining, another U.S. mining company. If the merger goes through, the American Bitcoin name will be retained and the combined entity will be listed on Nasdaq.

But the deal isn’t done yet. Both sides can back out at any time, and the merger still needs shareholder approval.

Growth with AI and data tech

ABTC currently operates more than 60,000 mining devices spread across multiple locations in the U.S. It’s still smaller than established players like Marathon Digital and Riot Platforms, but the Gryphon merger could change that.

Besides adding mining capacity, Gryphon would give access to new technologies, including artificial intelligence and advanced data processing. Those innovations are expected to help ABTC stand out in the fast-growing, competitive crypto-mining space.
