According to a study, the Metaverse could define online dating in 2023. Singles would "rely on technology to make new connections and build relationships." According to the study, about 33% of respondents plan to "use avatars in the Metaverse to put more emphasis on communication and digital intimacy."

The goal is to "find a partner who aligns with their personal goals," says Maria Sullivan, vice president and dating expert at Dating.com. The dating site Dating.com opened its first dating rooms in the Metaverse in September. Whether it will work remains to be seen, as there are currently too few players active in the Metaverse.

The Metaverse is popular with companies despite the bear market having few players. They see a future in the Metaverse and are preparing to be part of the virtual world. Including Sony, which is launching sensors for VR and the Metaverse.
