Judge Lewis Kaplan to decide Sam Bankman-Fried's sentence

According to Reuters reports, Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) will stand before Judge Lewis Kaplan in his upcoming criminal case. Among the judge's high-profile Manhattan cases are Prince Andrew, U.S. President Donald Trump, and actor Kevin Spacey.

American media describe him as a man who "doesn't do things halfway" and makes quick decisions. He was previously charged in the first crypto-related securities fraud case.

Before announcing his chairmanship of the Bankman-Fried case, Judge Ronnie Abrams stepped away from the case.

Judge Kaplan will now decide Bankman-Fried's sentence. The former FTX CEO faces up to 115 years in prison on charges including money laundering and securities fraud.

Meanwhile, he is under house arrest after a U.S. court released him last week on a $250 million bail to his parents' home at 250 million bail released to his parents' home.
