SEC slows Cardano ETF, Hoskinson speeds up XRP integration

The U.S. regulator SEC has once again delayed the case surrounding the Grayscale Cardano ETF. That keeps uncertain whether investors will soon have direct access to ADA through regulated products.

For the Cardano Spot ETF the deadline is October 26, 2025. By then the SEC must finally make a binding decision. Until then, Cardano balances between hopes of institutional adoption and the reality of a regulator keeping the brakes on.

Meanwhile Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson is going on the offensive: before the end of 2025 XRP must be fully integrated into the Lace wallet, allowing users to store and send XRP directly and without third parties.

Also Cardano’s privacy-sidechain Midnight will get native XRP support. This comes with a large-scale airdrop: more than 2 million wallets qualify for a total of 2.6 billion NIGHT tokens. Within the Midnight project there is now a dedicated XRP team working on further rollout.

Hoskinson goes one step further and announced a joint Cardano–XRP event. With that, he wants not only to bridge the two communities but also signal that collaboration is becoming more important than old rivalry.

Cardano's price appears twofold:

  • Regulatory outcomes still hinge on the SEC's decision on the ETF.
  • Technologically, Cardano strengthens its position as a multi-chain platform with broader integration.
